The ENT Centre

The Ear Nose & Throat Centre is a tertiary centre providing diagnosis, evaluation and treatment of both common as well as highly complex ENT disorders. The Centre offers a wide array of services provided by a professional team dedicated towards offering the latest treatment options and research.

Head & Neck Surgery
Having ulcers / lumps of the head, face, mouth and neck ? Problems with the thyroid or salivary glands ?

Fine needle aspirations and biopsies are some of the investigations available at the ENT Centre, to provide comprehensive evaluation of these common symptoms of head and neck cancer. Upon confirmation of the disease, a team comprising the ENT specialist, Radiotherapist, Radiologist, Medical Oncologist, Plastic Surgeon, Neurosurgeon and Pathologist will provide the most appropriate management for the patient.

Other members of the team comprising the Dental Surgeon, Speech and Swallowing Therapist, Physiotherapist and specialised Nursing & Medical Social Worker are also on hand to help patients optimise their recovery.


Voice Clinic
Having hoarseness and swallowing problems? If your voice is your profession, even a minor problem can have a major effect on your career.

The Voice Clinic at the ENT Centre provides a comprehensive range of services to help voice professionals care for their voices. Endoscopy, Strobscopy and Electromyography examinations are some of the investigations available for the evaluation of any voice problem or disorder. A team comprising the ENT Specialist and Speech Therapist is on hand to recommend the appropriate treatment, which could be in the form of speech therapy or surgery.


Otology / Skull Base
Having hearing loss, ringing sound / pain / discharge of the ear, giddiness or even facial weakness ?

Our team of trained personnel provides a full range of hearing assessment and treatment services. Besides prescribing hearing aids, our comprehensive Cochlear Implant Programme can restore hearing in the profoundly deaf and help children who are born deaf, to speak normally.

The Tinnitus Clinic provides management for patients who experience debilitating "ringing" sounds in the ear, including the use of Tinnitus Retraining Therapy.

For patients suffering from giddiness, advanced diagnostic and treatment is available. These include Computer Dynamic Posturography which can be used to differentiate various causes of giddiness as well as rehabilitate patients with imbalance problems.


Paediatric Otolaryngology

Worried that your child may have one or more ENT problems ?

The Centre provides treatment and management of ENT problems of children of all ages, including congenital disorders, tumours, infections, hearing loss, language/airway/nose and sinus disorders.

A complete range of services is available to cater to their special needs with tests, medications, procedures and operations specially tailored for the child's age. Every attempt will be made to make each child's visit as comfortable as possible.


Rhinology / Nasal Allergy / Endoscopic Sinus Surgery
Is your nose giving you problems ?

Nasal complaints such as obstruction, discharge and bleeding may be due to a wide spectrum of nasal pathology ranging from benign conditions like allergic rhinitis, to malignant ones like nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

The Nasal Endoscopy Room is equipped to provide a detailed examination for an accurate diagnosis. Skin prick tests are available at the Allergy Clinic for patients with allergic rhinitis.

For patients requiring surgical intervention, the ENT Centre offers Endoscopic Sinus Surgery, using the latest technology which obviates external scars. Sinonasal surgery facilities including cosmetic surgery for the nose and advanced endoscopic surgery for lesions of the skull base and orbit are also available.


Snoring / Sleep Disorders
Snoring or having difficulty breathing in your sleep ?

Snoring and other sleep disorders could result from problems in the nose, oral cavity or neck region. A team approach with inputs from our Respiratory specialists and Neurologists, provides evaluation on the severity of sleep apnea, through sleep studies conducted at the Sleep Disorders Unit.

Besides medical treatment, a range of surgical options is available to relieve snoring and sleep apnea. These include surgery to the tonsil, soft palate, jaw bone and neck cartilage.
