The Department of Rheumatology & Immunology provides clinical services for the diagnosis and management of all rheumatology-related conditions. Patient education and counselling are provided by a nurse clinician.

Clinical services provided by the department include the following:

• General Rheumatology with special interests in connective tissue disroders, e.g. systemic lupus erythematosus; inflammatory arthritis e.g. rheumatoid arthritis; ankylosing spondylitis, crystal-induced arthritis e.g. gout; degenerative arthritis e.g. osteoarthritis
  
  
• Inpatient management, including use of biologic agents in severe arthritis
