The Department of Internal Medicine provides cross-specialty care for patients with a wide spectrum of clinical conditions. Consultants in the department have had broad-based training in General Internal Medicine and in one or more subspecialties. The presence of clinicians with different subspecialty training in the department allows an integrated approach to patient care and helps to limit the volume of referral to other subspecialty departments.
