The unit sees to the referrals and management of patients with problems within the broad spectrum of Haematology; from various anaemias to polycythemias, from thrombocytopenias to thrombocytoses and from various leukopenias to leukocytoses. We are also involved in the management of primary and secondary marrow failures, problems arising from transfusion of blood and blood products and haematological disorders associated with other systemic diseases. The unit also covers inpatient and outpatient referrals for haematological problems from the other government/restructured hospitals in Singapore, including:-
- Tan Tock Seng Hospital
- Kandang Kerbau Women's and Children's Hsopital
- Changi General Hospital
- Alexandra Hospital

- Nutritional and haemolytic anaemia
- Autoimmune haematological disorders
- Primary and secondary marrow failures
- Problems arising from transfusion of blood
- Blood products and haematological disorders associated with other systemic disease
 Megaloblastic Marrow from a patient with cobalamin deficiency
 HbH inclusion bodies in a patient with heterozygous & alpha-thalassemia
