The Haematology Centre is responsible for the preparation of injectable cytotoxic drugs for the hospital, both in inpatient and outpatient settings. The pharmacy, situated within the Haematology Centre, also sees to the other pharmaceutical needs of patients visiting the Centre.
We provide counselling, medication and treatment related information to haematology and oncology patients. Chemotherapy handbooks and drug information leaflets are given to supplement our patients’ understanding of their illness and treatment regimen. The Haematology pharmacists are actively involved in developing and maintaining standards of practice, training and education of medical and paramedical professionals, and Haematology pharmacy research.
