Ø Potassium Ø Sodium Ø Chloride Ø Urea Ø Glucose Ø Bicarbonate Ø Amylase (serum) Ø Creatinine Ø Calcium Ø Magnesium (for infants only) Ø Blood Gases Ø Troponin T Ø Creatinine Kinase (CK) & CKMB Ø CSF Examination - a smear for organisms will be done if the cell count exceeds 10 or the glucose level is less than 0.6 mmol/l. Ø Total Bilirubin (for infants only) Ø Ionic Calcium Ø Salicylates (serum) Ø Paracetamol Ø Methotrexate Ø Digoxin Ø Phenytoin

The Client Services Section of the Department of Pathology is the collection and reception centre for specimens sent from other hospitals, clinics, laboratories and referring organisations.
