Direct Ward Referrals

24-hour Hotline: 6321 4822

The direct ward referral procedure is simple, with the GP needing only to give a call to the hospital to inform us of the patient's diagnosis and condition. Once request for admission is verified, the patient should proceed to the A&E admission desk for registration and transfer to the ward.

Patients need not go through A&E registration or pay any A&E charges. However if the patient requires stabilisation or treatment, he/she will be sent to the A&E Department for management.

It is important to note that patients with serious or life threatening conditions which require stabilisation and emergency treatment should still be sent to the A& E Department for management before admission.

Upon completion of treatment, where appropriate, the patient will be discharged back to the referring GP for follow-up and continuing care.
