| The SGH Nurse is a professional. Within Singapore's
leading tertiary hospital, opportunities open for her

To qualify as a Staff Nurse, you must go through formal
training.
Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) offers a 3-year Diploma in
Nursing course. This course, involving an advanced study
of human sciences, will prepare you to provide care
in a variety of healthcare settings. As part of the
course, opportunities also open to you for clinical
attachment where you can experience giving care to patients
in real situations.

Upon graduation, you will be registered with the Singapore
Nursing Board and obtain the licence to practise as
a Staff Nurse.
Singapore General Hospital offers scholarships to students
taking the Diploma in Nursing course at NYP.
A monthly allowance will be given for the period of

Upon successful completion of the course, you will
join SGH as a Staff Nurse and serve the Hospital for
3 years.
