To provide relevant and quality training to the indigenous physiotherapists in developing countries in the region to address their professional development needs
The participants will develop advanced knowledge and skills in:
• Musculoskeletal assessment of upper and lower limb and the spine
• Use of electrophysical agents and exercise prescription for Physiotherapy Treatment
• Assessment and treatment of neurological disorders and splinting for rehabilitation
• Cardiopulmonary assessment and treatment of medical and surgical conditions
• Applying theoretical knowledge and understanding of structured assessment
• Understanding of the fundamentals of clinical reasoning in managing patients
• Basic understanding of disease and injury pathology to make provisional diagnosis
• Good handling skills, safety and professionalism while handling patients
• Ability to perform basic and systematic documentation for clinical presentations to maintain clear and consistent communication among professionals
Lectures, some classroom practicals, supervised clinical practice, post-course evaluations
• Graduate with professional qualifications to practice as a physiotherapist in the country of origin / training
• Member of the physiotherapy association in the country of origin / training
• At least 2 years of work experience in the field of physiotherapy
• Successful completion of an interview and practical screening exam
• A minimum English language level of IELTS 3 or equivalent
