APPLIED SUICIDE INTERVENTION SKILLS TRAINING WORKSHOP (ASIST EDITION X)


Objective(s)

To equip healthcare professionals with the attitudes, skills and knowledge to help a suicidal person


Course Outline

Adapting the “ASIST” (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) model by LivingWorks Education in Calgary, Canada, the workshop will cover:

• Attitudes and knowledge about suicide and suicidal behaviour
• Suicidal risk assessment
• The suicide intervention model
• Suicide intervention resources in the community



Methodology


Lectures, observation, supervised simulation experiences and role-plays
