ASIST, in short for Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training, is a two-day intensive workshop designed to help frontline gatekeepers and professionals recognise and assist persons at risk of suicide using an effective suicide intervention model.
ASIST is an internationally recognized certificate training workshop. Set in an interactive and practice-oriented learning environment, caregivers acquire the essential and pivotal skills to intervene and prevent the immediate risk of suicide. Formerly known as the Suicide Intervention Workshop, ASIST was founded by LivingWorks Education Inc. in Calgary, Canada. A public service cooperation since 1983, LivingWorks was set up to develop suicide intervention programmes for front-line gatekeepers of all disciplines. To-date, ASIST is the most widely used, acclaimed and researched suicide intervention skills training in the world.

Just like the physical CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation) skills, ASIST develops your skills in suicide first aid to help a person at risk stay safe and seek further help.
