Obstetrics

The Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology provides generalised and specialised service for the expectant women. It serves as a tertiary referral centre for high risk pregnancies due to maternal and/or fetal conditions. It also collaborates with other specialised units within the hospital to provide the multidisciplinary management.

The Department had the first successful ovum donation and surgical retrieval of sperm and cryopreserved embryo live births in Singapore.

The Department consists of a labour ward, antenatal/postnatal ward and a nursery. It is located at Block 5 Level 2 and 3. The aim for every medical and nursing personnel concerned is to ensure the safety and health of the mother and baby.

The wards are managed by nursing officers supported by a team of experienced nurses. They provide and deliver parentcraft teaching and patient education to patient in caring for their newborn.
