Neurology and Neurosurgery

The Department of Neurology works closely with the Department of Neurosurgery to cater for all patients with neurologic diseases. The range of services provided include epilepsy service, stroke service, neurodiagnostic unit, sleep disorder service, neuro-oncology service, neuro-rehabilitation, memory disorder service, and parkinson's disease and movement disorders service.

The Department of Neurosurgery provides the following subspecialty services: neuro-oncology, cerebrovascular disease, trauma of head and spinal cord, spinal disorders, functional and peripheral nerve surgery, paediatric neurosurgery and radiosurgery.

The Neuroscience Nurse Clinician participates actively in providing opportunities for in-depth learning. She also co-ordinates a patient support group to provide health education and support to the patients and relatives.

The wards are located at Block 5 Level 2 and Block 7 Level 4. Besides the nurses, other members of the team include physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, medical social worker and neuro-psychologist. Together they provide a multi disciplinary and holistic approach towards achieving the optimal and best outcome for the patients.
