Objectives Participants will undergo the attachment programme at the burns ward, which is also the regional referral centre for thermal injuries. They will gain experience in managing patients with a variety of thermal injuries.

- Provision of specific care including nutritional support, infection control, burns wound management, psychosocial support, pain management and discharge advice
- Burns resuscitation regime
- Procedures for managing a major catastrophe involving thermal injuries
- Nursing management of a burns ward
