Attachment Programme in Operating Theatre Nursing
(Orthopaedic Surgery)

Objectives
This programme aims to prepare participants with up-to-date techniques of theatre nursing skills for the latest state-of-the-art operative procedures in complex orthopaedic operations, and the management of an orthopaedic operation room.

Content

  • Setting up and management of an orthopaedic operation room
  • Nurse's role in preparation, use and maintenance of orthopaedic instrumentation/endoscopic instrumentation and equipment etc
  • Understanding of patient safety aspects and prevention of hazards perioperatively
  • Post-operative nursing care for post-operative orthopaedic patients

For Whom

  • Registered nurses with a minimum of 2 years of post-registration experience
  • Currently working in the operating theatres
