Objectives Participants will gain in-depth knowledge in managing patients with head and neck surgery.
Content
- Pathophysiology related to head and neck cancers and injuries
- Management of patients with head and neck cancers (including radiation therapy) and injuries
- Pre-operative and post-operative care
- Nurse's role in pre-operative and post-operative counselling, discharge planning and post-discharge support (include support groups)
- Physiotherapy, speech and swallowing therapy
- Field visit to outpatient clinic and head and neck cancer trial clinic
For Whom
- Registered nurses with at least 2 years of post-registration experience
- Currently working in a surgical ward
