Objectives
This course aims to enable critical care trained ICU RNs to acquire competencies required for performing CRRT procedures.

Content

• Roles and responsibilities of the ICU RNs in management of patients with CRRT
• Basic concepts of CRRT
• Techniques and modalities of CRRT
• Circulatory access
• Demonstration on setting up the CRRT machine
• Demonstration on care of patient with circulatory access, initiation and conclusion of CRRT
• Circulatory access, monitoring venous pressure, heparinisation and anticoagulation, CRRT prescription and monitoring, troubleshooting and CRRT system
• Demonstration on initiation using vascular access, monitoring and conclusion of CRRT
• Return demonstration and supervised practices on:
  • Care of circulatory access
  • Initiation of CRRT
  • Conclusion of CRRT
