• Concept of pain as the 5th vital sign, ACPHR and JACHO standars for pain management
• Nurses as leaders and communicators in pain management
• Use of non-pharmacology and complementary therapy
• Advanced knowledge of medications used for pain relief
• Ethical and legal aspects in pain management
