The Alice Lee Institute of Advanced Nursing (Alice Lee IAN) was mooted to enable SGH Nurses to mutually share their knowledge and experience with their counterparts locally and in the region. This vision has been translated into reality with the birth of the Alice Lee IAN in Feb 1997.

The Alice Lee IAN draws on the following strengths of SGH:

• The matured level of nursing practice, which serves as a strong foundation for professional consultation and exchange
• A core group of experienced nursing specialists and trainees who are capable of conducting courses and practice-based training
• A comprehensive range of nursing specialisation which has evolved in tandem with developments in medical specialties and subspecialties.

Objectives

• The Alice Lee-IAN believes that continuing learning is critical and integral to the competence of the nurse.
• The Alice Lee-IAN will direct and provide holistic education geared towards the continuing growth and development of nurses to meet the healthcare needs of patients and the community.
